Cultural Program
Do you offer cultural activities?
We offer interesting cultural activities every week. These can take place during the week after classes or as day trips during the weekends.
Most of these activities are not included in the course price. We present the cultural program at the beginning of each course.
Students enroll for the activities and pay for them at the school office.
School
What is the average age group of the students?
Our school has normally several course participants from each age group: high school graduates (18-20), university students (20-30), professionals (30+, 40+, 50+) and young seniors (60+). The average age is of generally between 25 and 35 years' old. During the high season from September to March more and more of 40+, 50+, 60+ students book our courses.
How big is the school?
We are a small school with a very familiar and friendly atmosphere where everybody knows each other. Students appreciate this especially and are thankful for the care and attention we pay to all their needs.
Where is the school in Gran Canaria?
The school is located in the modern capital of Gran Canaria – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This location is perfect if you want to experience the authentic Canarian lifestyle and escape the tourist crowds in other spots of the island. The building is in a quiet street in the heart of the old town of Triana, right near the Central Bus Station San Telmo, which allows an easy transport communication to all parts of the city and the island. The key monuments of the old town, such as the Cathedral, the House of Christopher Columbus and the House of the famous Spanish writer Benito Pérez Galdós are all within walking distance from the school.
Course Program
What is the maximum number of students in the courses?
We teach Spanish exclusively in small groups of max. 8 students from April to Oktober, and max. of 10 students between November and March.
How far in advance do I need to reserve?
Gran Canaria is a popular tourist destination. If you wish to book accommodation, we advise you to do so as early as possible. We do accept last minute reservations. Please check accommodation availability with us.
Do I get a certificate at the end of the course?
A certificate of attendance will be given at the end of each Spanish course and is already included in the course price.
How is the first day of the course like? Is course material included in the price?
All new students meet at 9.00 h at the school office. They receive their books which can be bought or rent. We charge 5,-EUR for a book rent and keep 20,-EUR of deposit until the end of the course. Buying the course book costs 25,-EUR.
Please bring something to write. At the beginning of the course we also hand out the cultural program for the week with all the activities that we organize for our students.

Do you refund classes that are missed due to holidays?
There are no Spanish classes during national and local bank holidays. These classes won’t be recovered on other days. In the exceptional case of 1 week course bookings we will do a percentual refund for the missed classes. Skype Classes will be rescheduled.
Who do I speak with, if I have further questions?
Call us and ask to speak with Monika Georgieva. She handles the bookings and her working hours are from Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 13.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00h. She speaks English, German, Bulgarian and Spanish.
How do I get information about Course and Accommodation?
After receiving your payment we will email you the course documents (travel tips, course information and the accommodation address).
Please give us an email account with enough capacity and check your spam account from time to time, as sometimes documents can get lost.
Which is the right course type for me?
This depends on the length of your stay and personal needs. For example, students who are staying for a longer period (4 or more weeks) generally prefer our Intensive Spanish Course 20 with 4 lessons a day, each lasting 45 minutes.
Others, who only have a few weeks to learn and want to benefit from a maximum number of lessons in a limited time, prefer to add 1, 2, or 4 private/semiprivate classes/day.
They choose Intensive 25, 30 or Super-intensive courses 40. We also offer special programs such as: Business Spanish, Spanish for Specific Purposes, D.E.L.E./SIELE/CCSE Preparation and Skype classes.
Which level is the right for me?
Our school offers 6 different Spanish course levels (A1/A2/B1/B2/C1/C2). If you have no previous knowledge in Spanish then you can start in the A1 Beginners Course (see course starting days). Students with previous knowledge must fill out the level test on our webpage and comment us the results. Then we will advise you and inform you about the availability.
When can I start a course?
All levels (except beginners A1) can start on any Monday. Please, note that if there are less than 3 participants for a group course the course becomes a private/semiprivate course and the number of classes will be reduced. (See Terms & Conditions).

Do I need previous knowledge to study at your school?
Students who have no Spanish knowledge can book a beginners' course. Students with previous knowledge of Spanish must fill out the level test on our webpage and communicate us their results.
What is the minimum age to take part in the courses?
For our general Spanish courses, the minimum age is of 16 years' old. We also accept students younger than 16 in case of school trips and Spanish courses for families.

Bildungsurlaub
Which German states can do Bildungsurlaub at your school?
We are officially recognized by these German states: Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein,
Hessen, Niedersachsen, Saarland, Rheinland-Pfalz, Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
How can I participate in Bildungsurlaub?
Every employee in Germany has the right to recceive Bildungsurlaub. Once you has discussed it with your company, contact us and we will give you further information about the particularities of your state, starting days and availability.

What is Bildungsurlaub?
This program is offered only for German employees and consists of 1 or 2 weeks course, with 6 or 8 classes/day.
Accommodation
Are extra costs (electricity/water/WIFI) included in the accommodation price?
Yes, electricity and water and WIFI are included in your payment.
Who do I speak with regarding my arrival time?
Please email us your arrival date / arrival time at least one week before your course starts so that we can inform your hosts.
If you share accommodation with other students from the school, then you arrive directly to your accommodation address where you will meet our administrative officer Monika Georgieva who will show you the apartment and your room.

Is there a cleaning service included in the price?
If you book accommodation in a shared flat with students from the school you participate in the cleaning tasks and you can use the washing machine. The school cleans the flats before new students arrive.
In case of a stay with a Host family: you are responsible for the cleaning of your room during your stay and you can use the washing machine. The cleaning of common areas is responsibility of the hosts.
What is the equipment of then accommodation?
All our accommodations are fully equipped with use of fridges, washing machines, kitchen utilities, TV and free WIFI. Each room has a double bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, night table and a lamp. Sheets and blankets are included.
Please bring your own towels and anything else you may need to make your stay comfortable.
Where is the accommodation located?
All our accommodations are located near the beach of Las Canteras (20min by bus or bike) or in the old town of Triana right near the school.
Can I receive visitors overnight in private accommodation?
Yes. However, we study each situation (how many nights, how many people are staying in the apartment at that time…) separately to ensure a great cohabitation in the apartment. Please inform us about your visitors and the dates. Visitors pay an accommodation fee for these nights.
Can I book any extra nights?
Yes, you can stay some extra nights if you wish. Please check availability with us. There are special prices for extra nights.
When can I check in/out?
Accommodation are booked from the Sunday before course start to the Saturday after course ends.
When will I receive the accommodation address?
We will email you the accommodation address and a city map, together with the course documents at least 2 weeks before course start. We carefully assign students to the different apartments so that you share accommodation with people close to your age and interests. For this reason, we assign the apartments 2 weeks before course start.
Surf, dances and other activities
How can I enroll in a Surf, Dance Class or other activities?
These courses are offered by other schools which we cooperate with in order to offer you a more interesting and exciting experience.
Once you have booked a course with us we will send you your discounts for these activities with full information about enrollment, prices and location of these schools.

How can I pay the amount?
You can pay:
- By wire transfer to our bank accounts before the course starts.
- Through a PayPal account.
- By credit card (VISA/MasterCard) or in cash at our school. For further details regarding payments check our conditions.
Are there additional charges if I cancel?
Please check our conditions before you enroll.
When is the deadline to enroll for a course?
We accept short notice applications (depending on the course availabilities) until the Friday preceding a course which starts on Monday.
Services
What are the opening hours?
Monday to Friday: 09.00-13.00 h and from 17:00-21:00 h.
The school is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and local public holidays. If you need to contact us during the weekends, call us at our emergency number: +34 674 70 47 28.
Internet access/WIFI
We offer free Internet access/WIFI to our students during school opening hours.
Can I receive post at the school?
Yes. We recommend that you give your friends and relatives the school's address rather than the one of your accommodation.
