Always something going on when you learn Spanish in Gran Canaria
There is always something going on when you learn Spanish in Las Palmas
We just kissed June goodbye with a little sadness since it was such a cool month with a lot of events going on in the city with the city foundation celebrations. But a fresh breeze woke up this July to remind us that we live in a very cool city where there is always something going on. Not one, but two festivals!
Teatro, Música y Danza. That means theater, music and dance. Dozens of events taking place all around the city, and best of all, most of them outdoor and for free. For example the vertical dance/clown show this friday just next to the Columbus museum, or a theater play representing some aspects of our aborigin culture in the central square of Santa Ana later on that same day. From July 4th to August 2nd. Check out the program and don't miss cool events.
International Jazz Festival
Do you like Jazz? Say no more. Mild summer nights with live Jazz troughout the whole month. Where? You know it: in Gran Canaria. Check your favourite concert.
Well, if two big festivals that cover many cultural areas aren't enough for you, don't forget that summer time is romería time in Gran Canraria. Traditional folk festivals taking place all over the island, in a different village every weekend. If you want to get to know the real traditional lifestyle of the islands, go to one of these.
