Cultural Agenda of Las Palmas in September

Las Palmas is one of the Top 10 big cities in Spain with around 400.000 residents and has therefor a frenetic leisure offer. Festivals, theatres, concerts,… it´s all in! Here is just a preview of what Las Palmas has to offer in September:

– Festivals:
September starts with the Cine+Food Festival. A great chance to discover food and cultures from all over the world combined with an open air movie theatre in the heart of the city (August 31th- September 3rd)
– Theatres:
This month there is a great chance to get closer to La Mujer Española (the Spanish Woman) with two great plays that take a close look to the inner world of their female protagonists: Ser Mujer (September 15th, Teatro Guiniguada) or Entrelazadas (September 30th, Teatro Cuyás).
The awarded musical Casi Normales can be seen in the Teatro Pérez Galdós between September 14th and 24th. With 4 great theatres in the city there is always something for every taste.
– Concerts:
September starts with a powerful Noche Flamenca (Teatro Guiniguada, September 3rd) with great artists such as Amparo Navarro or Los Carmona. The international star David Bisbal (15th) or the old school band Hombres G (23rd) are other highligts of this month´s music scene.
– Museums:
Beside the permanent exhibition of a large number of museums you can enjoy the last days of Metrópolis Atlántica (until September 3rd, Casa de Colón) and get closer to the urban development and architecture of Las Palmas in the last 500 years. Or you might want to experience the art of our contemporary painter Pepe Dámaso (until September 17th, Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno).
– Football:
La Liga visits Gran Canaria every two weeks. All football fans can enjoy our yellow team Las Palmas and our guests Athletic de Bilbao (17th) and Leganés (24th).
This is just a sneak peak of what the city has to offer in September. With the cultural program of the school you will discover the nature, history, culture and life of the island.
